Jam Session from 3pm. Feature artist 6-8pm.

Geelong Lions Breakfast Club BBQ from 5pm.

You are also welcome to bring your own snacks. Strictly no BYO alcohol.

* Except for December (mid-month) and January (Recovery Day on New Year's Day)

SHBC Jam Session

Every gig starts with a blues jam session, from 3pm. The session goes to about 5pm when we clear the stage for our feature artist.

Musicians of any level are welcome to join in – just bring your instrument.
Drums, amps and mics are supplied.

SHBC has charted a number of blues standards as a reference. Jammers might find it helpful to be familiar with some of these songs in case they come up. These songs are just ideas. The Jam isn't curated - you can play anything as long as it's blues (or a close relation). Check out our Songbook here.

CATCH 23

Catch 23 is a four piece blues-rock band that has turned heads in Melbourne’s blues scene with their debut album "Blues Hotel". Since forming in 2018, Catch 23 has developed their unique sound by incorporating a wide range of blues, rock, and boogie influences, resulting in a modern take on blues rock. The band's debut album has been warmly received, achieving blues-and-roots chart success and radio play across Australia and the US and the UK. Live performances are rockin', and include a combination of their original tunes and tasty covers, sure to get you up and dancing. Catch 23 is not to be missed!

Gwyn Ashton, one of the hardest working and powerful one-man bands, is back touring a new solo album titled Mojosoul and a brand new single Get Outta Town with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus and members of Australian bands Cold Chisel and Superjesus.

In 2023 Ashton smashed stages across The Netherlands and Belgium with prog rockers Wishbone Ash, co-headlined the Adelaide Guitar Festival in Australia and relentlessly blazed his way across Wales, England, Serbia, Bosnia, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia and Poland. He brings his Mojosoul Australian Tour to Sleepy Hollow Blues Club on March 16 and we can't wait!

The McNaMarr Project

The stars aligned in the musical universe when Andrea Marr and John McNamara, both well respected and experienced Australian Soul and Blues artists in their own right, combined forces to become The McNaMarr Project.
They’re right up there with the very best. In 2019 they released ‘Holla & Moan’ - their debut collaborative work. And the global blues and soul scene sat up and took serious notice, with great airplay support worldwide, and fabulous reviews likewise pouring in from all corners. The album won the Vic/Tas blues awards for Album of The Year and Song of The Year.
Three years and a whole new world later, The McNaMarr Project released their second album – Run With Me.
Reaching number 1 in Blues and soul charts in Australia and the US, getting rave reviews world wide. ‘Run with Me’ was nominated for Best Blues work in the prestige Music Victoria awards and in November 2022, Andrea Marr was inducted into the Blues Music Victoria Legends Hall of fame.
They have represented Australia in Memphis for the International Blues Challenge and being hailed world wide as ‘The Real Deal’. ‘The Soul of Stax’
